Guns Current Adventures

Well this as you can tell has come and gone, we are back home now. But i will slowly attempt to do the holiday write up. i will start from day one here.

24th December 2005
Today was the day we were due to leave. We had to sort out our things, do a final bag pack, sneak into town to get a few last things and then before we knew it we were in the car and driving to heathrow. The drive went smoothly and we soon were in a huge line at the airport to check in. We soon were checked in and on the plane. The first flight of only 6 hours to dubai wasnt to bad and we ate and watched a couple of movies.

We arrived in Dubai with on 45 mins to get on our next plane. IT was allways going to be a rush but we encounted a problem at the check in at the couldnt issue us with a boarding pass and then once that problem was resolved kates passport wouldnt scan, there was a high tension and presure but eventually it worked and we had to sprint to the gate… we just made it…. then the plane was delayed hahahahahaha to it was all in vain.

The next flight of 14 hours was tough.. i slept for about 7 hours on it but kate only got in about 3. Eventually it was over and then a quick flight from melbourne to nzl and we were in auckland and then in my parents car on the way to tauranga.

Once we made it to taurnga I met my little nephew for the first time which was nice and kate got ot meet EVERYONE!!!! it was nice and we had a christmas present opening session as my parents had not opened them on christmas day (it is about 4pm on boxing day now). We then had some steak for dinner before we went to bed really tired but made it to around 9pm.

27th December 6am
Kate and I were up early and we ate and then went for a drive around. we then had 16 of my extended family around for a christmas lunch. It was yummy and i ate lots. Then after lunch we went to the beach for the first time and i had a nice swim. then afterwards it was more relaxing a a beer at home.

28th December.

After getting up today we went to tauranga as i had a dentist appointment which all came though well with no issues. After that we had lunch at the crown and badger and then had a drive around before we got soemthings for dinner and came home. I made Lamb with Kumara mash and cripy noodle salad for dinner. Then we watched Zoolanded and went to bed.

29th December.

Today we went to rotorua and went up the gondola and went riding down the lugue which was fun. Then we went in the bingy swing thing which shoots you off the side of a montain.. haha it was super good, we then drove back to tauranga and i started mowing the lawns and Michael and Fiona showed up. We then went to the beach which was nice as we got some good surfing in.
We got more RED MEAT for dinner and had a BBQ which was super tasty.

We then played a game called cranium which was fun, for the recored the team of kate tim and mum beat the fiona, little mike and big mike team.

30th December.

This morning we all got up early and climbed up the mount. It was good and the view was super. On the way back down the surface was slightly uneven and there was the odd small spill. Afterwards we went to the beach and did some boady boarding and chilling out. After which we came home and had a spa and a few sneaky beers. For dinner we had fish and chips and I made an apple crumple for everyone.

We again had cranium and this time the tema of fiona, little mike and big mike won.

31st December (New Years Eve)

Today we went out for breakfast and then we left the girl in town which mike and i went back and watched the cricket after setting up dads tv ect correctly for him. The cricket was stating well with nzl again looking to smash sri lanka. we then picked up the girls and had some lunch. Later we again went to the beach and did more surfing and swimming andsunning. I liked it when it got really hot and the sun felt like ti was burning me hahahahaha.

Afterwards we had a few beers and some bbq again for dinner before we went to the golf club with my dad for a few quiets. There was some karoke there and it was super fun although dad was singing the longest songs inthe world… anyone know AL Paseo? after some more singing we got the free van form the golf club to the mount to watch the bad and then see the fire works and then say happy new years.

1st December

well nows its new years and it dawns on me that i didnt really think my plan though very well in regards to how we were getting home… It turned into walking which took 2 hours. People were not happy with tim although kate got to see the milky way…. which was soemthing i guess…..

after walking up feeling rather sore fromt he long walk we went to the movies and saw narnia… it was a good movie… mike wasnt allowed to go to the toilet until we got to our seats which was funny.

afterwards we drove home and had a spa and relaxed.

2nd January.

Today we took a drive to Katikati and went to the bird gardens. It was a super nice day again and the bird were funny. The funny part of it all was feeding the emu’s whey were hungry, we then went and got some spplies for the drive back tomorrow, some dinner things for some nachos. After a trip to the beach we got everything ready. made and ate dinner and then had a spa and watched telly.

3rd Jan.

Today we got up early and were on the road to wellingotn by 7:40. We stopped in taupo for some brunch and then by 12 were at Mokai Graviy Cannon for our flying fox experiance. It was cool, not as scary just super good. Although we did feel scared untill it was over. I recomend it to anyone.

After that we carried on our drive to wellington, soon we were at Fi and mikes house which is really nice and we had pizza and some salad for dinner and then had an early night.

4th December.

Today kate and i set off early ish and drove to where i used to live to have a look around, wellington put on a nice day for us and we got some good pics from up mt victoria. We had brunch at parade cafewhich way YUMMY. We then drove into the city and had a mooch around before meeting up with craig and Gako for a beer at the malthouse. It was nice. then fi had picked up some steak and things and we had bbq with chicken and some salad and fi’s yummy potatoe salad thing which was super yummy.

5th December.

Today I drove kate around the bays and we had a berry smoothy at the Chocolate Fish Cafe which was super yum. Then we drove into town and went to te papa the museum which was good before meeting up with gako and craig for lunch at the malthouse which was good. After that we did some more shopping and i took kate to Wainui to the wainui hill lookout before we headed back to fi and mikes to relax.

Then we all got dressed up and went out for dinner, i had the venission which was so pink and tender it was almost still alive it was super yummy. Then we went to strawberry fair for desert and then off to the Embassy to see king kong. We had the super good leather seats which were super comfy and the money was a nighty big moneky…. by the time we got home it at 1am and we crashed out.

6th Jan.
This morning we caught a ride to the airport with mike and then flew to auckland. on arrival to auckland we were picked up by mum and dad and then we drove to the norht shore where we had brunch. Afterwards wee went to kelly tarltons which is an underwater world. It was super good and kate got to see her penguins.

Afterwards we went to the skytower and had a look around. before walking to the harbour for some lunch with everyone. aftrewards we walked back to the skytower hotel and i had a snooze.

We then had some dinner with everyone and then again went back to rest in the hotel. Dad and Philip went off to gamble at the casio.

7th Jan
In the morning we were up and ready to go and were on the road to the wedding by 8:30. We headed north toward Whangarei and were there by lunch time. before again stopping at a lookout.

We got to the motel we got some bread for lunch and then got dressed up for the wedding and went. Kate got to meet another 15 or so family members as a treat. The wedding went off without any drama. We all went to a pub which we waiting for the photos to be done before heading to the reception. It was really nice and good to catch up with everybody. However we didnt stay to long and were back at the hotel by about 10:30 which mum and dad carried on the party.
8th Jan
The next moning we drove to Waitangi and had a little paddle at waitangi beach which was nice. Then we carried on driving and stopped in openoni which had ana mazing beach which we again swimed in. and had soem fish in chips on the sand. Then we went to a lookout over the beach which was beautiful.

Then we drove to see a massive Kauri tree and then continued on to drive home. We stopped at the kauri museum near Dargaville and then headed back to taurnaga via henderosn, auckland, peoroa and eventually taurnaga and Mount Maunganui.

It had been a cool long weekend and we had been right up and around the upper north island. But it was now time for bed.

9th Jan
In the morning after some breakfast and mooching we drove to Taupo via Rotorua and the recreated Pink and White terraces. NOw you can pay to go in and see them.. or you can sneak along a fence line and dget a better look from across a thermal river thing. they were really cool, then we drove to Huka Falls and then to our hotel. On arrival to the hotel we chilled out, went for a swim in the lake and did some sun bathing. LAter we drove round the lake a little and then went to the bungy look out and had a little walk and then went back to the hotel. We had some yummy steak for dinner and watched telly.

10th Jan
This morning we checked out of the motel and drove to the bungy look out again to watch someone jump off and then went to a natural thermal spa in the river, it was super hot and nice.

Then we drove to Ohtronhonga Kiwi house and walked around the bird gardens which was nice. We saw the kiwis which were super funny and cool. They are naughty!!!

The we drove to hamilton and saw my sister and philip and baby daniel again which was cute. Then we drove back to tauranga, had pizza for dinner and then chilled out, going to bed earlyish.

11th Jan
Today we went to Waimarino and hired a Kayak and paddled up the river for 2 hours, it was fun and we saw lots of birds and cows and things. We then drove to the mount to meet my sister philip,baby Daniel and Mum for lunch we had a turkish kebab which was yum, mine was the biggest inthe world and i ate it all up!!!

then i said good bye to my sister, philip and baby daniel as they were going back to hamilton and kate mum and I went to the shops, and then we went to the fish market and got herbie the cray fish. before heading home. We though hebie the crayfish was dead.. but he was just resting. After we got home, i went in to show nana herbi, we got a massive pot and boiled it up which took ages, after it boiled we had to say by to herbie and i dropped him in from a great height and 4 mins later he was cooked, After a this we drove to the beach, surfed a bit and then came back home and then we had herbie the crayfish and steak fo dinner which was yum. Herbie was so sweet, although he cut me when i was cracking open one of his legs…. naughty herbie.

After dinner we went to the mount hotpools which are open air hotpools at the base of the mountain which were super relaxing. And then we went back home watched some telly and then we went to bed.

12th Jan

today was out last full day here, we got up and mooched around a bit before heading off to the mount to do some shopping for presents and things, then after some lunch we went to the beach for one last surf.. the waves were the best they had been for a while and we surfed and surfed before going for an ice cream at the mount and heading home to relax. However when i got home i realised i had lots of computer stufff to sort out for mum and dad and after about 4 hours it was all resolved. we had a super nice roast lamb for dinner, my aunty and uncle came around and we had a hot drink and a chat before saying goodbe to them, we also spoke to mike and fi on the phone. after all of that it was time for bed.

13th Jan the last day….

Today we sorted out the bag, and just mooched abnout again, kate and I took out nanna for some morning tea which was nice and we had a nice big chat. apon returning we did more sorting out of the bags, had some lunch and then said goodbye to nana and the dogs and then drove to auckland, then after a massive check in line again we were checked in, had a drink with mum and dad and then we had to say goodbye to them and then we were off through security checked and customs and were on the plane in no time, the flight was long but we got around 8 hours sleep on the 14 hour leg from melbourne to dubai…

we got to heathrow by 11:30am to a grey cold ugly london and we were so0n in the car head ing for the fresh air of sunny wales…. although it wasnt super sunny there was some sunshine.

We were home by 3:30 and were in bed by 7pm.

In summary it was a super nice holiday and it was sad when it was over. Kate and I really enjoyed ourselves and it was great to catch up with everyone that we did.

Its sunday afternoon now, its starting to get darker in the sky and I am in need of some lunch
